In short - they all make sure that services/products are designed in an “anatomically” correct way.
There’s a popular saying among UX experts - most users do not remember how certain services are designed. Unless they’re designed badly.
Sure, interfaces and products formed in a thoughtful, outstanding form will also catch attention, but most of those borne in minds are the less fortunate designs.
And what do the designers actually do?
UX designers work on a set of experiences that users face while using a certain product, eg. browsing the website or using an app. Researching this field leads to replacing unsuitable solutions with more appropriate and user-friendly alternatives.
Examples? Imagine a website fully packed with such treats like endless page scrolling, stubborn pop-up windows, animated page loading, intrusive social media calls-to-action, and huge menus. Some of these might actually serve a point on some websites, while on others they’ll be a pain in the browser, especially when applied altogether. The job of a UX expert is to resist the temptation of using all available means to lure the customer and focus on providing most thought out service in order to enhance the customer experience. - and this doesn’t necessarily have to be limited to web/app services.
UI designers spotlight the user’s visual experience. This is a strictly digital field of design, focused on providing the possible best and convenient interfaces. UI experts work on creating a way of communication between the user and the software, researching interactions between humans and machines. Great UI should include qualities such as clarity, concision, familiarity, aesthetics and efficiency.
User experience design (UXD or UED) is the process of enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty by improving the usability, ease of use, and pleasure provided in the interaction between the customer and the product.

Despite it being an older and more practiced field, the question of “What is user interface design?” is difficult to answer by its ranging variety of misinterpretations. While User Experience is a conglomeration of tasks focused on optimization of a product for effective and enjoyable use; User Interface Design is its compliment, the look and feel, the presentation and interactivity of a product. But like UX, it is easily and often confused by the industries that employ UI Designers. To the extent that different job posts will often refer to the profession as completely different things.
